These inscriptions, along with material from the burial registers, were first published by the late Mr. A. S. Maxwell about 25 years ago and for a very limited market. No plan was included in the original work so it was decided that, as there would be additions and/or alterations to some of the inscriptions, we would use the original text as a basis for this publication. Thanks go Margaret Brown, Edna Cromarty, Jean and Jim Shirer for their help. Thanks to the late Mr Stuart Chrystal for additional information about some of his family stones. Particular thanks to the Rev. Neil Gow for access to the Church to cross check the inscriptions in the Church.
